Seven laughs a minute!

"A dazzlingly balletic comedy" – Time Out London

Seven Chances (1925) is a characteristic work of boundary-pushing physical comedy by Keaton. It's elevated to the level of instant classic with the famous "avalanche" sequence. In a career filled with incredible stunts and elevated gagwork, this scene (which caps an already-exceptional extended chase sequence) is Keaton at his most daring.

Jimmy Shannon (Keaton) learns he is to inherit seven million dollars, with a catch. He will only get the money if he is married by 7pm on his 27th birthday – which happens to be that same day! What follows is an incredible series of escalating set-pieces that could only have come from the genius of Buster Keaton.

Screens with short film The Goat (1921), an extended-chase sequence that's a pure dose of Keaton's kinetic comedy.
